New jobs and modern plants in Poland as a part of the government development strategy

It is the fulfillment of our commitment to implement the economic programme, the „Plan for Responsible Development”, in which an important role is played by the reconstruction of the industry, reindustrialisation and creation of new, major business investments as well as creation of new jobs in Poland based on plants producing the state-of-the-art equipment – said Prime Minister Beata Szydło at the Thursday press conference with participation of Markus Schaefer from the Board of Mercedes-Benz Cars.

The Head of the Government expressed satisfaction that the Mercedes-Benz would construct its factory in Poland, in the regions, where the unemployment level is high. I am glad that the company having such huge achievements and a recognised brand around the world decided to invest in Poland – stressed the Head of the Government. We would like to have more such investments in Poland – she added. As she said, Poland would invite foreign investors and create a good climate for them.

Prime Minister Beata Szydło stressed that investments such as the Mercedes-Benz factory in Jawor provide not only jobs and contribute to the development of the region. These are also modern companies which are a background for students undergoing training and internship there or for engineering personnel involved in the scientific research work.

The meeting of the Head of the Government with the representative of Mercedes-Benz Cars was also attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Development and Finance, Mateusz Morawiecki. The Deputy Prime Minister signed the agreement concerning the construction of the engine factory in Jawor near Wrocław with the Daimler AG concern, to which Mercedes-Benz Cars belongs.

Mercedes factory for about EUR 500 million will be constructed in Poland

At the beginning of May, Daimler AG announced that it intended to invest about EUR 500 million in the construction of a new engine factory in Jawor near Wrocław and to create there several hundreds of new jobs. In accordance with the plans, the construction will be completed in 2019 and in 2020 the plant will reach its full production capacity, producing several hundred thousand engines per year. These will be high-tech four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines designated for a wide range of vehicle models, from the smallest A class to S class limousines.
